On the 18th December, Sandwich Sandwich launched its highly anticipated Christmas sandwich—an annual special that has become a beloved tradition in Bristol. Their Christmas sandwich has gained immense popularity, with Sandwich Sandwich receiving hundreds of Instagram messages daily, with fans eagerly inquiring about the launch date. It’s no wonder that this festive offering attracts food lovers from all over the country.

Picture this: soft, fluffy bread stacked high with succulent overnight-roasted turkey breast, smoked bacon, pulled turkey thigh, sage and onion sausage stuffing, crispy shallot and parma ham crumble —all brought together with a generous drizzle of cranberry sauce. And of course, it wouldn’t be complete without a rich pot of their homemade gravy on the side.

This year’s creation is shaping up to be one of their biggest and best yet.

Since we’ve been open in London, our queues have been stretching down the street. As all of our deli sandwiches are made lovingly by hand, this can sometimes take time. We’re not the sort of company that wants to throw a shoddy looking sandwich together for the sake of getting more of you through the door. We value our product, and refuse to serve you anything but the best.

However, we understand that not everyone has the time or desire to queue for that long, which is why we also offer a Grab & Go range!

The selection of these sandwiches has expanded this week to include our full sandwich range. The only difference is that they’re not customisable, but they still use the same delicious ingredients as our deli sandwiches. We make our Grab & Go sandwiches fresh every morning – and we even have a different till so you don’t have to get in the deli queue to pay!

You can find our Grab & Go fridges on the left hand side of the shop, just enter via the second door and you’ve found the right spot!

This week, we were named Time Out London’s best sandwich shop! This award was granted after going head-to-head with some of the most prestigious sandwich shops in London. We were especially blown away by this recognition, considering we’ve only been in the capital for three weeks!

We feel very humbled that a small family business from Bristol, such as ours, can make such an impact in one of the foodie capitals of the world.

Sandwich Sandwich, the family-run eatery based in Bristol and operated by father-and-son duo Nicholas and Joshua Kleiner, has announced the opening of their debut London store at 1 Gresham Street on 18th July. This comes just months after being crowned Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year in 2023.

The sandwich specialists currently operate several sites across Bristol, with plans to launch locations both across the UK and internationally.

You may have seen these amazing sandwiches across social media; their epic cross-sections have gone viral among foodies. With their Instagram-worthy dishes racking up millions of clicks online, Sandwich Sandwich has garnered attention from the likes of Tyson Fury, Gordon Ramsay, and Lewis Capaldi, to name a few.

Sandwich Sandwich beat over 12,000 nominated restaurants across the UK and Ireland to be crowned Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year 2023, propelling their business forward and initiating their move to London.

The award was handed out by Dame Prue Leith, cook, TV presenter and author who commented “I am thrilled to be part of the Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year Awards for the second year of the programme. I was hugely impressed by all of the finalists, and by the food they served on the judging day. That from Sandwich Sandwich was particularly imaginative, inventive and delicious. I’m delighted to hear of their ambition to open additional restaurants. Their menu is fresh, full of flavour, healthy and extremely varied. There’s something for everyone on there.”

This move to London means a great deal to the family. Joshua Kleiner, Head of Marketing at Sandwich Sandwich, said, “We owe all of this to our customers and the team around us. We cannot possibly thank you enough.”

Sandwich Sandwich was launched in 2012 by dad Nick Kleiner, starting as a small sandwich shop in Bristol. Nick’s vision has grown exponentially, and in 2015, the family-run business expanded into catering orders, building up a cult following across the wider Bristol area. Today, Sandwich Sandwich operate four sites, including Baldwin Street, Queen’s Road, and Park Row, with Nick’s sons continuing to work tirelessly alongside him.

Commenting on the upcoming launch in London, owner Nicholas Kleiner said, “When we won the Uber Eats Restaurant of the Year award, we said the investment would help our ambitions to grow, but we didn’t imagine it would be quite so soon. We cannot wait to open our doors in London and see the public’s reaction to our freshly made, locally sourced sandwiches and our famous sweet and savoury treats.”

Their quirky and sometimes risqué marketing has caught media attention over the years, so Sandwich Sandwich is looking forward to making some noise here in London this Summer.
